Surrounded by open fields, winding lanes and far-reaching views, the home blends rural charm with thoughtful modern design. The exposed beams, natural textures and contemporary finishes create a unique canvas for lighting- and our team at Amos Lighting + Home was delighted to develop a scheme that enhances every architectural detail while making the home feel warm, cosy and beautifully lit.

Living Room: A Cosy, Calm Space for Relaxation
In the living room, our brief was to create a warm, inviting atmosphere while ensuring practical, task-ready lighting.
To achieve this, we placed the Franklite Lewis Illuminated Base LED Floor Lamp in Black beside the armchair- the perfect reading companion.

For general lighting, we specified Astro Ascoli Single Matt Black Interior Spotlight on the ceiling. These offer focused yet unobtrusive illumination, bringing a clean, contemporary edge that suits the house’s blend of rustic beams and modern finishes.

Kitchen: Statement Lighting in the Heart of the Home
The kitchen at Higher Ash Farm is a show-stopping space featuring exposed timber beams, a large island and soft grey cabinetry. Our lighting design needed to complement the architectural beauty while delivering task-ready brightness.
Above the island, we installed three Tom Dixon Beat Tall Pendant LED lights in Matt Black. Their sculptural form provides an eye-catching focal point, casting warm pools of light that make the kitchen feel cosy yet sophisticated.

To ensure even illumination across worktops and walkways, we incorporated additional Astro Ascoli Single Matt Black Interior Spotlight. These discreet fixtures blend effortlessly into the ceiling, enhancing visibility without detracting from the kitchen’s stunning design.
This combination of stylish pendants and practical spotlights creates a beautifully illuminated, highly usable kitchen at the heart of the home.
Staircase: Guiding Light with Architectural Precision
The staircase benefits from carefully positioned Astro Borgo Trimless lights. These recessed floor-level luminaires emit a warm, guiding wash of light that enhances safety while adding a sleek architectural detail.

Their trimless finish keeps the space clean and modern, creating a stunning effect as the light spills across the stone treads. As natural light pours through the large window, the artificial lighting subtly supports the space without competing with daylight.
Hallway: Soft Glow for a Stylish Welcome
The hallway at Higher Ash Farm is a bright, welcoming space that blends contemporary lighting with rustic architectural details. The Astro Serifs Plaster Interior Wall Light provides a soft, upward and downward wash of light, beautifully accentuating the crisp white walls and natural stone flooring. These plaster interior wall lights can also be painted over, making them easy to blend into any space, while giving off beautiful illumination.

Its clean, sculptural form adds a modern touch that contrasts elegantly with the exposed timber beam overhead. Paired with discreet floor-level Astro Borgo Trimless lights, it guides movement through the space with subtle warmth. The result is a calm, refined entrance area that feels both functional and thoughtfully illuminated.
Terrace: Warm Lighting for Outdoor Living
For the terrace and covered outdoor pavilion, we selected Hunza Adjustable Spotlights in Copper. Their warm tone and directional beam highlight the timber structure, stone fireplace and dining area, creating an inviting space for evening use. Discreet wall lighting around the exterior further enhances visibility and showcases the architecture without overwhelming the peaceful countryside setting.

By the front entrance, the Astro Mast Outdoor Wall Light ensures a bright, welcoming arrival point. Its timeless design complements the home’s exterior while providing practical illumination for visitors and homeowners alike.
The exterior lighting at Higher Ash Farm enhances the home’s natural stone, timber cladding and landscaped pathways. Along the curved garden walkways, low-level bollard lights create a warm, safe route around the property while highlighting the beautifully maintained planting and rural views.
